Headed to "The End" Montauk, NY
Updated: Jul 9
We had decided to stay in downtown NY in a IHG hotel, and the first hotel we had booked was the Crowne Plaza in Times Square. Well due to covid, the booking was cancelled last minute. So, we had to be flexible and change our plans. Due to this we decided to change the hotel to Intercontinental and took the time to rent a car and drive out to the Hamptons over the weekend instead of staying downtown.
We are so glad we decided to do this, as the drive was just magical. The colors in late November on the leaves were so bright and colorful, and we still caught really good weather. It was not rainy or overcast most of our time there.
The first stop when we got into Montauk was the lighthouse. Which was the first lighthouse to be built in New York and was authorized by the second US Congress under President George Washington. Which makes this a great stop if you are coming to this area. There is a lot of history in this museum and entry is about $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for children, and $8.00 for seniors
